Using Amazon S3 to host internet video?
I've heard that Amazon S3 is a good solution if you're running a video sharing website, and the need to host videos from your server. 17-cents per GB sounds like a dream come true. 1) My first question: I just wanted to confirm that the section above true, and you can actually put your video on this account, and just over a video link on your site? 2) I am completely lost when logging into my Amazon S3 account and trying to figure out how to access the web space and upload files. Everything on the menu sounds like a kind of technical jargon, and it is very user-friendly on. Where and how can I upload files? The site navigation is a complete nightmare, there is no link that says "file upload field" or something of that affect. I know not even know where to go. I have read through the help section, and am still lost …
S3 software is good and everything, but if you want to dynamically videos on the S3, you should look to Amazon API and a PHP script draft (probably using Curl) to send the files to a web server instead of manually uploading them yourself (what would you do if you have an external 3rd party software used). I am an experienced PHP coder and can help you with that for a price. Then first came out, I was not sure of the structure of the APIs, so I had another programmer to help me and he charged me $ 3000, but I would find it much cheaper.
